Thevuni Amaradasa

Consultant

Thevuni Amaradasa is a consultant at the Firm, specializing in the area of Intellectual Property Law. She graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws and was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in the year 2018. Thereafter, she read for a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Communications Law from the Monash University, Australia and is a registered Agent at National Intellectual Property Office.

She has extensive experience in all matters pertaining to registration of Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights and Industrial Designs and related services, which include providing legal advice on infringements and enforcements of intellectual property rights and dispute resolution and litigation relating to IP matters.

Thevuni has experience representing both foreign and local clients before National Intellectual Property Office.

Upul was called to the bar in 1976 and later joined the Attorney General’s Department as a State Counsel in 1978. He was the first Legal Consultant to the Greater Colombo Economic Commission (GCEC) in 1978 which is now popularly known as the Board of Investment (BOI).

Inpa Kanagaratnam is a Senior Consultant to the Firm, with several years of experience in the legal field; having covered both litigation and adjudication in multiple jurisdictions including Sri Lanka, Seychelles and the United Kingdom. He has extensive experience in Arbitration and the British judiciary.

Nimal Weeraratne is a senior legal practitioner who provides independent consultancy services to the firm having returned to Sri Lanka after serving as High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore & Brunei from 2015-2018.

Mohamed is a Partner of the Firm who oversees all labour and employment matters and specialises in civil litigation and dispute resolution. He is an experienced practitioner counting over twenty years of practice in the fields of industrial relations and international labour standards and has dealt with HR and industrial relations matters involving leading business entities.

Kalana is a Partner of the Firm and was called to the Bar in 2010 as an Attorney-at-Law. He has extensive experience in the areas of corporate transactional law and commercial law including public private partnerships, investment structuring, restructuring of companies, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions as well as litigation. His specialty lies in taking a practical commercial approach in safeguarding the interests of his client.

Kalana Jayasuriya

Erandi is a Partner of the Firm. Her areas of expertise include mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, cross border transactions, amalgamations, drafting and reviewing commercial documents, providing advice on foreign investment and general legal advice on doing business in Sri Lanka. She also has extensive experience in conducting legal and secretarial due diligences on target companies prior to a merger and/or acquisition.
