Chula is the Precedent Partner of the Firm. She is a licensed Notary Public in both English and Sinhalese and has extensive legal expertise in the fields of real estate and conveyancing with over thirty-five years of experience and training.
She has considerable experience in carrying out title due diligence, preparation of title reports and drafting as well as preparing Mortgage Bonds and other security documentation over immovable property for several leading commercial banks and finance companies in Sri Lanka. She frequently advises both private and corporate clients in relation to condominiums and other property transactions, including residential, commercial and agricultural properties. Her advice and services also extends to drafting and attestation of various agreements and notarial instruments such as leases, transfer deeds, last wills and testaments.
Prior to founding the law firm, formerly known as ‘De Silva and Jayasuriya’, she was attached to the Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka and also served as an in-house Legal Officer at the People’s Bank PLC.
She is also a Solicitor in England and Wales and has obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colombo.
