Laknath is a Legal Counsel at the Firm. After having completed his period of apprenticeship at the Attorney-General’s Department, Laknath was called to the Bar in 2011. He thereafter joined the Chambers of Mr. S.L. Gunasekara for a period of two years, where he gained invaluable experience and exposure in diverse areas of Law. He has since thereafter worked in the Chambers of Ms. Maureen Seneviratne, President’s Counsel, Mr. Upul Jayasuriya, President’s Counsel and Mr. S.N. Vijithsingh, with whom he has appeared as Junior Counsel in several landmark cases.
He specializes in the areas of Civil Litigation such as Land Law, Public and Administrative Law, Commercial Law and is equipped with extensive knowledge and experience in drafting of applications and appeals of myriad nature in both the Original Courts and Appellate Courts.
He has read a Bachelors of Law Degree (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) from the University of London and thereafter obtained a Masters of Law (specializing in Commercial Law) from the University College London (Merit Honours).
