Theekshana is a Legal Counsel of the Firm. He was called to the Bar in Sri Lanka in 2017 and specialises in the areas of Civil Litigation, Commercial Law and Corporate Transactional Law.
Theekshana has read for a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Staffordshire, United Kingdom and his Masters of Law degree from the University of Colombo with a special focus on Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and International Trade Law.
Theekshana commenced his career as the Secretary to the Supreme Court Justice [retired] Her Ladyship Chandra Ekanayake who was also the Acting Chief Justice and a Judge of the Fiji Judiciary. Thereafter he completed his apprenticeship under the guidance of President’s Counsel Shammil Perera who is the Advisor to the Archbishop His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and was also a part of the Chambers of Chrishmal Warnasuriya as a legal intern prior to joining the profession.
Upon being called to the Bar Theekshana joined the Chambers of Mr Asela Rekawa, Senior Counsel where he represented clients in highly contested matters relating to White Collar Crimes, Family Law, sports related inquiries on behalf of clients including the Sri Lanka Cricket, Rugby Federation and also civil and commercial appeals on behalf of leading financial institutions and licensed commercial banks in Sri Lanka.
Prior to joining Invictus Law, Theekshana worked as an offshore Commercial Lawyer in the Mergers & Acquisitions team of a leading Australian Law Firm.
He has completed his postgraduate studies in Diplomatic Affairs from the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI), the training wing of the Foreign Ministry, Sri Lanka and Maritime Law from the Institute for Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP).
